Agricultural Engineering Eligibility Criteria
To be considered eligible for admission to Agriculture and Farming Engineering, students need to fulfill a certain set of eligibility criteria prescribed by the concerned authority. Eligibility criteria may differ from college to college. However, the basic eligibility criteria to pursue Agriculture Engineering courses at the diploma, UG, PG, and doctorate levels are as under:
- Diploma: Students must have passed class 10 or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 45% marks each in Science and Mathematics as compulsory subjects from a recognized board.
- Undergraduate: The most popular UG-level Agriculture and Farming Engineering course in India is BTech. To enroll on this programme, one must have passed class 12 or its equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. Moreover, the candidates should also have secured at least 50 to 60% aggregate marks in the subjects.
- Postgraduate: To enroll in PG level MTech in Agriculture Engineering, one must have completed a BTech degree in the same or its related specialization with minimum required marks. Most of the institutes grant admission to their MTech programme through GATE.
- Doctorate: Students must hold a master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 55% marks and clear relevant entrance exams.
