About COMEDK UGET 2026
COMEDK stands for the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka. Its UGET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) is the gateway exam for admission to 150+ private unaided engineering colleges in Karnataka — and unlike KCET, it's open to candidates from anywhere in India, not just Karnataka domicile holders.
COMEDK UGET 2026 was conducted on 9 May 2026 in online, computer-based mode at test centres across the country. Result and rank were declared on 29 May 2026, and centralised online counselling for seat allotment is currently underway (Round 1 reporting live as of late July 2026).
Through COMEDK ranks, the consortium allocates seats in:
- Top private engineering colleges — RVCE, BMSCE, MSRIT, PES University, Dayananda Sagar, Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, BMS Institute of Technology, Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology, CMR Institute of Technology, Jain University and 140+ more
- VTU-affiliated & deemed university engineering programs across Bangalore and Karnataka
- Select colleges also accept COMEDK rank for architecture admissions (via NATA combined eligibility)
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Indian citizen, OCI or PIO. No Karnataka domicile requirement — open to candidates from any state in India, unlike KCET's state-quota rules.
- Age & attempts: As per AICTE/VTU norms — no separate independent age bar is prescribed by COMEDK itself.
- Educational qualification: Passed 2nd PUC / 10+2 / equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects, plus one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science or Electronics as the optional subject.
- Minimum marks: 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (40% for SC/ST/OBC-Karnataka category candidates).
- Combined Uni-GAUGE option: Candidates can additionally opt for the Uni-GAUGE UG test (extra fee) for eligibility to more deemed/private universities beyond the core COMEDK consortium.
Documents Required (Essential)

Optional Certificates (For Reservation Benefits)

- Category certificates where applicable to the participating college's own reservation policy
- Domicile certificate — only if applying to a Karnataka-quota seat at a specific college that requires it

COMEDK Counselling 2026 Process
After the COMEDK rank is published, counselling is conducted entirely online through the official portal — currently live for Round 1 (as of late July 2026).
| Stage | What Happens |
|---|---|
| 1. Choice Filling | Log in to comedk.org, search colleges and branches, and enter options in order of your preference before the deadline. |
| 2. Mock Cut-off / Mock Allotment | COMEDK publishes indicative mock cut-off ranks so you can gauge realistic options before the deadline. |
| 3. Seat Allotment (Round 1) | Seats are allotted based on rank, options entered & category. Result is published on the portal with a fee-payment window. |
| 4. Fee Payment | Pay the seat-confirmation fee online within the stipulated window to hold your allotted seat. |
| 5. College Reporting | Report online (and/or physically, per college instructions) to your allotted college within the reporting window. |
| 6. Seat Cancellation (if needed) | Candidates wishing to withdraw and try Round 2 can cancel their seat within the specified cancellation window. |
| 7. Round 2 & Mop-up | Vacant seats are filled in subsequent rounds for candidates who didn't get their preferred choice in Round 1. |
Because COMEDK has no domicile restriction, competition includes strong candidates from across India. Fill your choice list honestly and broadly — the allotment algorithm gives you the best option you can secure with your rank, so narrowing your list too early only reduces your own chances.

COMEDK 2027 Preparation Tips
Starting early for COMEDK 2027? These strategies help you make the most of a single 3-hour, all-subjects-together format:
- Master CBSE/NCERT Class 11 & 12 textbooks first. COMEDK questions closely track the CBSE curriculum — get this foundation rock-solid before branching into JEE-level reference books.
- Practice full 3-hour, 180-question mocks. Since all three subjects run in one continuous sitting (unlike KCET's separate papers), stamina and subject-switching speed matter as much as accuracy.
- Solve previous years' COMEDK papers. Question style and difficulty repeat closely year to year.
- Time-box each subject mentally. With no fixed per-subject time limit, aim for roughly 60 minutes per subject and flag tough questions to revisit rather than getting stuck.
- Track mock cut-off trends. COMEDK publishes mock cut-offs during counselling — use historical patterns to set realistic college/branch expectations early.
Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Organic Chemistry & Calculus together account for a large share of marks.
Simulate the real online interface and 3-hour single sitting to build exam-day stamina.
30-min reverse revision before sleep locks the day's topic into memory. Non-negotiable.
