What About FMGE vs NExT?
FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) is the existing exam Indian students must clear after MBBS abroad to register with NMC. NExT (National Exit Test) is the new exam being phased in — once fully implemented, it will replace both FMGE for foreign graduates and the final MBBS exam for Indian-trained doctors. The principle remains the same: if your MBBS is foreign, you must pass NExT to practise in India.
