How this calculator works
The calculator uses representative Karnataka MBBS fee data verified by TurtleEdu Bangalore counsellors across 60+ medical colleges in the state. Tuition is the largest component (60–75% of total). Hostel and mess (₹1.2–2L / year typical) and miscellaneous fees (lab, library, internal exam, association — ₹15–40K / year) make up the rest. We apply your chosen annual hike compounded year-on-year, because Karnataka private colleges have historically raised fees 5–10% per academic cycle.

Karnataka MBBS cost — key context
- Government MBBS through KEA is the cheapest legal route — total 5.5-yr cost ~₹8–12 lakh including hostel. Requires NEET 580+ for Bangalore government seats.
- Private KEA quota total 5.5-yr ~₹30–38 lakh. Excellent value if your NEET rank gets you a KEA private seat in a hospital-attached college.
- Management quota in private colleges total 5.5-yr ~₹1.4–1.8 crore. Legal and regulated by KEA, but watch for capitation-fee scams.
- Deemed universities (Manipal, Yenepoya, Sri Devaraj Urs) total 5.5-yr ~₹1.8–2.5 crore. Worth it if the brand / hospital exposure matters to your career plan.
- NRI quota 5.5-yr ~$200K–250K USD-denominated. Currency volatility risk is real — budget 8–12% buffer.
