About UGNEET Karnataka 2026
UGNEET is the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) counselling process that allots MBBS, BDS, BAMS (Ayurveda), BUMS (Unani) and BHMS (Homoeopathy) seats in Karnataka colleges — purely on the basis of a candidate's NEET UG 2026 rank. It is separate from UGCET/KCET, which covers Engineering, Pharmacy, Agriculture and allied streams via the KCET exam.
NEET UG itself is conducted nationally by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The 2026 cycle saw a re-examination on 21 June 2026 (after the original exam was cancelled), with results declared on 16 July 2026 — 11.21 lakh candidates qualified nationally. Once results are out, KEA runs its own state-level counselling (UGNEET) to allot medical/dental/AYUSH seats to eligible candidates using that NEET rank.
UGNEET counselling determines admission to:
- Government medical colleges — Bangalore Medical College, Mysore Medical College, and other state institutions
- Private medical colleges — St. John's, Kempegowda Institute, MS Ramaiah Medical College, and more
- Dental colleges (BDS) across Karnataka
- AYUSH colleges — Ayurveda (BAMS), Unani (BUMS) and Homoeopathy (BHMS)
Eligibility Criteria
- Qualifying exam: Must have a valid NEET UG 2026 rank/scorecard issued by NTA.
- Educational qualification: Passed 10+2/PUC with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English, meeting NEET's own minimum-marks eligibility.
- Karnataka state quota seats: Karnataka domicile/study requirements apply, similar in spirit to UGCET/KCET state-quota rules — check the KEA information bulletin for exact criteria by category.
- Non-Karnataka candidates: Can register and compete for All-India-quota-linked or NRI/management seats where applicable; domicile is not required for every seat category.
- Reservation categories: SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD relaxations apply as per Karnataka government and NEET norms.
Who Must Register Fresh
- Candidates who never applied for UGCET 2026 but have now qualified NEET UG must submit a completely new UGNEET application and pay the prescribed fee.
Who Should NOT Reapply
- Candidates already registered for UGCET 2026 only need to link their NEET roll number to their existing CET 2026 application via the separate linking option KEA activates — no fresh application or fee needed.

UGNEET Counselling & Seat Allotment Process
Once registration and (where required) document verification are complete, UGNEET counselling follows a structure similar to UGCET/KCET counselling:

| 4. Mock & Seat Allotment | KEA typically releases a mock allotment for review, followed by the real allotment based purely on NEET rank. |
| 5. Fee Payment & Reporting | Pay the seat-confirmation fee and report to the allotted college within the deadline. |
| 6. Subsequent Rounds | Vacant seats are filled in later rounds for candidates yet to be allotted. |
Because seats are allotted purely on NEET rank (no separate exam-specific weighting), your college/course option order is the only lever you control. List every college/course you'd genuinely accept, in true preference order — skipping options you might actually want only reduces your own chances of a better seat.
