MCC vs KEA — Which Counselling Applies to You?
MBBS admission in India runs through NEET-UG, but the counselling body depends on the seat category. Understanding this early avoids missed deadlines and wasted rounds.
MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)
Conducts counselling for All India Quota (15%) seats and seats in deemed universities & central institutes for MBBS, under the Directorate General of Health Services.
KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority)
Conducts UG NEET counselling for Karnataka state-quota MBBS seats (85% of government college seats), and also coordinates admission to private/deemed college management and NRI quota seats within the state — separate registration and portal from MCC.
