B.Sc Nursing Karnataka 2026 — Overview
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) is a 4-year undergraduate professional course recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and the Karnataka State Nursing Council. It combines theoretical instruction, hospital-based clinical training and a one-year compulsory rotating internship, producing licensed Registered Nurses (RNs) eligible for jobs in India and abroad.
Karnataka has 80+ INC-approved B.Sc Nursing colleges across government, private, autonomous and deemed-university campuses. Since 2020, KEA conducts B.Sc Nursing admissions for Karnataka state-quota seats through KCET nursing rank. Private colleges additionally fill seats through management quota, deemed universities through their own counselling and a small percentage through NRI/PIO categories.
To get B.Sc Nursing admission in Karnataka 2026: (1) pass 10+2 with PCB ≥45%, (2) appear for KCET Biology paper for government and government-quota seats, (3) apply for KEA UGCET nursing counselling after results, or (4) apply directly through management quota in private & deemed colleges. Total cost: ₹60K (government) to ₹20L (top deemed) over four years.

B.Sc Nursing Admission Pathways — Karnataka 2026
There are four legitimate routes to B.Sc Nursing in Karnataka. Pick the one that matches your rank, budget and college preference.
B.Sc Nursing Fees Karnataka 2026 — Government vs Private vs Deemed
The single biggest cost variable is the quota you secure, not the college itself. Indicative 2026 fee ranges, before hostel and other recurring costs:
| Category | Annual Tuition | 4-Year Total Tuition | Hostel + Mess (4 yrs) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Government colleges (KEA government quota) | ₹15,000 – 50,000 | ₹60K – 2L | ₹1.5 – 3L |
| Private colleges (KEA government quota) | ₹65,000 – 1.2L | ₹2.6 – 4.8L | ₹3 – 5L |
| Private colleges (management quota) | ₹1.5 – 3L | ₹6 – 12L | ₹3 – 5L |
| Deemed universities (Manipal, Yenepoya, KLE) | ₹2.5 – 4.5L | ₹10 – 18L | ₹4 – 7L |
| NRI quota (private & deemed) | $4,000 – 8,000 | $16,000 – 32,000 | $4,000 – 8,000 |
Tuition does not usually cover uniform (₹6–10K one-time), books (₹3–5K/year), lab & clinical-posting fees (₹5–15K/year) and the one-time INC registration fee (₹1,000–2,000) at the end of the course. Add 8–12% to your headline budget for these.

KEA UGCET 2026 — Nursing Counselling Process
KEA nursing counselling for 2026 follows the same option-entry framework as the KCET engineering rounds, but with a separate nursing rank list. Here is the round-by-round flow:
| 1. Online Registration & Fee Payment | Log in on cetonline.karnataka.gov.in with your KCET 2026 user ID, complete profile, pay counselling fee of ₹500. |
|---|---|
| 2. Document Verification | Upload original documents (10th, 12th marks card, study certificate, domicile, caste/income, Aadhaar, medical fitness). KEA team verifies online — physical reporting only if flagged. |
| 3. Option Entry | Choose colleges and seat categories in order of your preference. No artificial limit on the number of options for nursing — list all colleges you'd join. |
| 4. Mock Allotment | KEA releases a mock allotment to indicate what seat your option list will fetch. Modify options before the final deadline. |
| 5. Real Allotment (Round 1) | Seats allotted on KCET nursing rank + reservation. Four choice options: 1 (accept & lock), 2 (accept and consider higher in next round), 3 (reject, retain higher option), 4 (full reject). |
| 6. Fee Payment & Reporting | Pay KEA + college fee within the deadline. Carry the original admission order, originals + photocopies to the allotted college. |
| 7. Round 2 / Mop-up | Vacant seats filled in Round 2 by the same rank list. Followed by an offline mop-up round at KEA office for residual seats. |
For B.Sc Nursing, do not over-prioritise Bangalore over a strong Mysore / Hubli / Belagavi government college. Clinical exposure is what makes you a great nurse — and a 500-bed government hospital often beats a 200-bed private one. Order options by hospital strength & INC approval status, not city.

Direct Admission — B.Sc Nursing Karnataka 2026
"Direct admission" in Karnataka refers to management-quota admissions in private colleges and deemed-university direct counselling. KCET rank is not required. The process is fast (typically 5–10 days) but seat availability is highly time-sensitive.
If anyone asks for cash, demands payment to a personal account, claims to "fix" your INC registration or guarantees a government college without KCET rank — it's a scam. Legitimate management-quota admissions are transparent: written fee structure, official allotment letter, and bank transfer to the college's audited account.

India is currently short of 4 million nurses per WHO's recommended 3:1000 nurse-to-population ratio. With Karnataka being one of the largest exporters of nurses to UK, USA, Australia, Canada and the Gulf, B.Sc Nursing is among the most internationally portable degrees in India today.
